Clinical assessment and decision making

This programme is delivered by NHS Lothian. It is validated by Queen Margaret University. Through our rigorous quality assurance procedures we ensure that the programme has the same academic standards as equivalent awards delivered by QMU.

The aim of this module is to develop critically reflective practitioners who demonstrate clinical assessment and clinical decision making competence to provide safe, effective person centred care. This is delivered as a single module and offers clinical and professional development opportunities for registered healthcare professionals working in an appropriate area.

The module is key within NHS Lothian to support the development of safe and effective, person centred practitioners working across Health and Social Care. Specialists from the multi-professional team including medical, nursing and allied health care professionals will contribute to the module. This module is also a pre-requisite for the NHS Lothian/QMU Advanced clinical practice modules.
