What has been the highlight of your time at QMU so far?
The highlight of my time at QMU so far has been meeting other like-minded individuals on my course, as well as learning more about other courses through other students. Because of the small student population, it’s easy to connect with students on other courses, allowing me to find out more about a whole range of topics.
Having the chance to work with students from other courses on projects and events has broadened my understanding of different subjects and given me a well-rounded perspective on my own studies, all while creating a collaborative and supportive community environment on campus.
What is one thing you wish you knew before coming to university at QMU?
I wish I had known how supportive and accessible they are here at QMU. Before starting, I was worried about the challenges of balancing academic work with my employment, especially in a new environment. However, QMU has a close-knit and inclusive community where staff are genuinely interested in student well-being. Knowing that there is always someone to reach out to for guidance and support would have made my transition to university life a lot less daunting!
What is your favourite thing about being an ambassador for QMU?
My favourite thing about being an ambassador for QMU is the chance to connect with prospective students and share my experiences. It’s incredibly rewarding to help others feel more confident about their university choices when they discover all that QMU has to offer.
Being an ambassador also allows me to develop my communication skills in representing the university. Making a difference, even in small ways, by helping future students feel welcome and informed is a rewarding experience.
