Dr Joanna Long is a Lecturer in Physiotherapy in our Division of Dietetics, Nutrition and Biological Sciences, Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Radiography

She qualified as a Physiotherapist from Kings College London in 2012, having completed an undergraduate BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science at the University of Sheffield. Joanna has worked across many different area of Physiotherapy in London, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders.

She undertook an integrated PhD full time at the University of Edinburgh which combined a doctoral level project with entrepreneurship and healthcare innovation taught modules. My project explored point of care diagnostics in low resource settings, specifically targeting tuberculosis diagnosis.

 She joined the QMU Physiotherapy team in 2021 as a lecturer.
