Kasun joined Queen Margaret University in March 2024 as a lecturer in Finance and Accounting.
Kasun was previously a Senior Lecturer / Head of the Department at NSBM Green University Sri Lanka. He served in the positions of temporary lecturer to the Head of the Department of the same university for 8 years (2015 -2023) prior joining the Queen Margaret University.
As a lecturer in Finance and Accounting, he delivered modules for the University of Plymouth (UK), Victoria University (AUS) and UGC-approved local degree programmes at NSBM Green University Sri Lanka. Further, He served as a research supervisor for undergraduates of University College of Dublin (Ireland) at NSBM.
As an academic administrator, he has acted in the capacity of Node leader for BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree offered by Plymouth University (2015-2020). Monitoring sports /other extra-curricular activities of the university, and solving academic and non-academic issues of students were a few other core responsibilities that he handled as the Head of Student Affairs.
Kasun graduated from the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura with a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a First Class (2015) and completed his Masters in Applied Finance at the same university (2018).
Currently he is reading for his PhD at the department of Economics, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo (2020 to date).
Kasun's main research interests are in the broad areas of Finance such as Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Working Capital Management and Sustainability.
