Advancing Practice Portfolio (Single Module)

This module is designed to support learners from the registered health care professionals develop a professional portfolio which will enable them to evidence their capability to practice at an advanced level.

The portfolio will contain a range of evidence mapped to relevant advanced practice frameworks/standards and the associated necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours required at advanced level.

Advancing Practice Portfolio: The module in brief

You will be guided through the module by an academic and workplace clinical supervisor who will support with:

  • identification of relevant advanced practice framework(s)/standard(s);
  • completion of a learning needs analysis; and
  • development of a learning contract.

There are two options of the Advancing Practice Portfolio module

  • Advancing Practice Portfolio 1 (20 credits at master's level): This would be suitable for an experienced clinician with a significant level of pre-existing portfolio evidence which is able to be drawn upon and contribute to the portfolio submission. Development of new learning and evidence will typically amount to 200 hours of study.  The module will be completed within a single semester.
  • Advancing Practice Portfolio 2 (40 master's level academic credits): This would be suitable for a less experienced clinician with a less developed range of pre-existing portfolio evidence to be drawn upon. Development of new learning and evidence will typically amount to 400 hours of study. The module will be completed over the course of two semesters.

This offers you the ability to choose the depth of study/support required for your portfolio development.
