The Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland can support undergraduate students that have to pay their own tuition fees. Ìý

Overview

The Carnegie Trust undergraduate scheme aims to support students who do not receive government funding towards the costs of their tuition fees following withdrawal from a previous course of study, academic repeats or because of their residence status.

What's Included in the Scholarship

The Carnegie Trust are able to fund the cost of course fees up to the amount of £1,820 annually.

How to Apply

Applicants to The Carnegie Trust's Undergraduate scheme must complete the 'Eligibility Checker' on their website here, before they are able to apply.Ìý

Once this online check has been completed, you will be able to fill out an online application form. This form must then be submitted in The Carnegie Trust's online portal along with the following supporting evidence:Ìý

  1. Evidence of your eligibility for the scheme

    • If you are applying on the basis of 2 years of secondary schooling in Scotland this would include government identification and ONE of the following:

      • Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) transcript, secondary school attendance record, school qualification certificates OR a letter from your school or college confirming dates of attendance.

    • If applying on the basis of a substantial connection to Scotland please contact the Trust to discuss this directly.
  2. Proof of student status which is expected to include your name, course title, degree type and fee amount clearly stated. This will often take the form of a Letter of Acceptance from your university.
  3. A letter from SAAS notifying you are ineligible for tuition fee support in addition to the sum of maintenance loans owed to you.Ìý
