At QMU we have a long tradition of welcoming students from all over the world. Around 25% of Queen Margaret University students are international coming from over 80 countries throughout the world.

Entry Requirements

For undergraduate courses:

We welcome applications from Chinese students who are holding a minimum of 70%Ìýin their Senior Secondary Graduation Certificate orÌýthe college entry examinationÌý(Gaokao) with a total of 400 or above out of 750 or equivalent.

Some courses require you to have studied specific subjects within the Senior Secondary Graduation Certificate. Please refer to the individual course page on ourÌýwebsiteÌýfor further details.

Admission to our undergraduate programmes can be made by those holding a relevant diploma or other recognised qualification such as GCE A Levels, International Baccalaureate, American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s or other recognised qualification.

For postgraduate courses:

We will consider applications from students holding a good Bachelors degree from a recognised university. This is required to be a minimum of 70% (Grade B) or a GPA of 3.0.

Where your honours degree has not been studied in English, you will be required to provide evidence of English language competence. Please refer to the individual course page for further information. (Requirements may be subject to change in line with developments to UK Visas & Immigration policy).

Scholarships, Fees and Funding

QMU Scholarships:

The University is pleased to offer a number of competitive scholarships of up to £3,000 each for new international students undertaking their first year of study on an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. The scholarship is granted as a reduction of the tuition fee and is available to students who are self-funding with an international tuition fee of more than £9,000 for a single year of study only. Applications can be made by students who have received an offer of a place of study at the University.
